Karen read  "A Healing Ritual on Mother's Day After the Leak"

A  poem  written on  Mother's Day after the Supreme Court ruling was leaked, and dedicated  it to Lizelle Herrara had been arrested by Texas sheriffs in the Rio Grande Valley and charged her with murder for allegedly self-inducing an abortion in Januar,y after staff at the hospital where she had gone for help reported her.  Herrera was placed in a jail near the Texas-Mexico border although no law was yet in place that had authorized this action. It was  a chilling reality that after Roe v Wade was repealed by the Supreme Court any woman who has a miscarriage, still birth or abortion could be jailed as could  those who offered them help.
